THIS and THAT (costume fun)
THIS AND THAT WEBINAR Sept 26-27 2:00 to 4:00 USA central time
This webinar will cover a few random costume making this and that’s that we’ve had interest in over the last year. We’re going to show you a few fun things over 2 days.
We will pattern and create a men’s shirt dickie, a partial shirt with standing collar. We will also demonstrate a few different neck treatments, rigged jabot and ascot style decorations.
Making a Neck Ruff, stiff standing Elizabethan style collar. This can be adapted into a tutu! It’s great for all sorts of costumes and decorations. Use it as a cuff, or even as a sleeve. Travis will show the basics, and some time saving steps to create these architectural wonders!
Bum Rolls and Hip Buckets. We will pattern and create a bum roll and a pannier (hip bucket style). Both are used to create exaggerated skirt silhouettes.
Skirt CB plackets. We will demonstrate making 2 different types of skirt center back closures. Inserting a closure into a seam and centered within a skirt gore. We will also show you how to create an easily adjustable waist on a skirt and a method to easily shorten a skirt from the waist. A great technique to make skirts more adjustable from season to season and performer to performer.
